The Nikon F-301 (or N2000 in the US) was a budget film SLR introduced in 1987. It is similar to the F-501 in many ways, except the F-301 is manual focusing only. It also allows metering with AI lenses. Historically, this was the first Nikon SLR that lacked a film advance lever; it was the first Nikon camera to use polycarbonates and also the first Nikon body to feature DX film decoding. It runs on AA or AAA batteries. The camera came in battered cosmetics and the battery cover at the bottom was missing, hindering me from being able to use it.
