The Nikon F-401s ('N4004s' in the US) is an autofocus SLR that is an upgraded version of the F-401 (1987). It has a screw that drives the AF on the lens (for AF lenses) and runs on AA batteries, which is another likeable feature of this camera. This camera marks many firsts that become commonplace today: the camera design, the camera grip, a built-in pop-up flash, adjusting aperture via thumb dial. Features it lacks are the AI tab (it makes pre-AI lenses compatible with this camera).
