The Minolta X-700 (1981) was considered as one of the best point-and-shoot film cameras in the world at the time and awarded the European 'Camera Of The Year' in 1981. It was Minolta's most successful camera since the SRT. The Minolta X-700 was introduced as a premium manual focus film SLR and competitor to Canon's AE-1. It differs from other Minolta X-series cameras with the inclusion of Program auto-exposure mode. Some of the features in the Minolta X-700 are: TTL metering, depth of field preview, exposure compensation dial, self-timer, exposure lock, frame counter, hot shoe, and PC socket.
